

Dismantle and Move 18 MW Power Plant -
In the summer of 2002 our
company was contracted to move an 18Mw Wartsila power plant from Punxsutawney, PA
to Soyapango, El Salvador. The power plant consisted of three 18V32 Wartsila Vasa
dual fuel generating sets with heat recovery boilers and a 1.5Mw steam turbine. This
combined heat and power plant originally provided up to 18Mw of power into the grid
system and also provided heat for 10 acres of greenhouses.
Each unit was moved complete
to reduce costs and installation time. All apertures were sealed for the journey
by road and sea freight to Acajutla, El Salvador.
